Do I Need to Sign Up? (and other questions)

We try to make coming to SixSixteen’s Revelation Bible study as easy as we can for people. To that end, here are a few questions I get asked that may help you decide whether you want to come to our study of Revelation:

Do I need to sign up to join the Revelation Bible study?
No.

Does it cost anything to join?
No.

Is there anything I have to do to join the study?
No, just come and you’ve “joined”.

Once I’ve come, do I have to make a commitment to come each week?
No, come whenever it works for you.

If I miss several weeks, will I be lost when I come back to the class?
No.  Since Revelation is a story, you’ll obviously have a better grasp of the book the more you come. However, I’ll teach each week in such a way that it can stand on its own.

Is there any preparation I need to do each week or outside study required?
No.

Are there any materials I need to buy?
No, you just need a Bible.

Do I need to know a lot about Bible prophecy and the end-times for the study to make sense?
No, in fact, you’ll probably “get” Revelation better if you don’t.  I’m hoping we spend much more time learning Revelation rather than unlearning Revelation.

Are you going to call on people to answer questions?
No, participation in discussion times is optional and many people just come and listen.

If I’m an “older single”, will I feel awkward coming?
No. In the past, more “older singles” than “younger singles” (whatever those terms mean) have come to studies we’ve done.

Will I understand Revelation better if I come to this study?
I’m praying so. Understanding any book of the Bible is dependent on the aid of the Holy Spirit. I’ll be praying, studying, and teaching in such a way to make Revelation as understandable as I can. In this regard, Revelation is no different than any other book of the Bible. I’ll think you’ll find Revelation more understandable if you think of it as a “picture book” rather than a “puzzle book”.

When does it start again?
September 7th at 9:00 a.m. and every Sunday morning thereafter until we complete the book.

Bottom-line: Come and try it and see if it is something for you. If you miss the first week, come whatever week you are able.
